Storybook Waves

Have you ever thought about volunteering but not found something that "fits in" with life?

Storybook Waves relies on volunteers who generously give their time to the project. Editing stories that will delight children is fun and rewarding. Volunteers need a computer and basic IT skills and can work from home in hours that suit them.

Software, training and support is provided and the project asks for a commitment of about 3 hours a week.

Volunteer Event Helper

Aggie Weston’s is looking to recruit volunteer Event Helpers to supplement and support the pastoral support work that takes place in establishments across the Naval Service. The volunteer pastoral worker would be based in the Naval Chaplaincy Service and would be there to support sailors, marines and their families by listening, comforting, encouraging and supporting. The role will be varied and interesting, with full support and training provided by Aggie Weston’s.

An event helper will provide support at events such as coffee mornings, parent groups, Storybook Waves book clubs and families day. The work of the event helper will be varied and could be different each week - from making tea, coffee and bacon rolls for serving personnel to helping with craft sessions at family groups.

For more information on volunteering as a Pastoral Worker or Event helper please contact Ops and HR Manager on office@aggies.org.uk
