At the last meeting of the Board of Trustees on 7th October, one of our current trustees, Commodore Bob Fancy was invited to relieve Paul Nelson as our Chairman of Trustees. Paul has recently retired from the Service and felt that this was a suitable moment to step down. All at Aggie Weston’s thank Paul for his valuable service to the charity, and wish him all the very best for the future.
At the same time we are absolutely delighted that Bob Fancy has accepted the challenge. He is currently appointed as “Commander Core Training and Recruitment” which makes him responsible for all Royal Navy / Royal Marines recruitment and initial training and for Cadets and Youth. He has command oversight of Britannia Royal Naval College, Commando Training Centre Lympstone, HMS RALEIGH in Torpoint and 1 Assault Group Royal Marines.
Bob Fancy said: 'It is a huge privilege to be asked to be the Chair of Trustees and I am grateful for the support of my colleagues at Aggie’s, both fellow trustees and the HQ team. It seems to me we are opening a new chapter in Aggie’s support to the beneficiaries and I think our journey will be at times taxing but most importantly exciting and fruitful.’
